Summer time means ice cream. But what a – NICE! – surprise to find an ice cream truck parked right on the Champs-Elysées in Paris. And not just anywhere on the Champs, but right at the corner of Avenue Montaigne and the Champs-Elysées.

And the cherry on top?  It’s all-organic sorbets and ice cream.

: )

Now we absolutely LOVE that!

THE PHOTOS ABOVE ARE OF KLÉOPATRE, THE NEW CAT AT HOTEL LE BRISTOL, PARIS. SHE WAS WELCOMED, BEFITTINGLY, ON A PALANQUIN.
THESE (CHOCOLATE) SARDINE TINS, FILLED WITH YUMMY LITTLE COOKIES WERE MADE BY NO LESS THAN A 3-MICHELIN STARRED CHEF! NOW THAT’S SOME KITTY KAT STYLE!  ALL PHOTOS PAIGE DONNER COPYRIGHT ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

Delectable little treats for cats and dogs seem to be fairly prolific these days. Still, if you have a dog – or cat – as finicky as mine is, you have to sift through the lot to find the ones they like.

My little Fifi was recently gifted a box of Switties (pron.: sweeteys) by a very smart and savvy press team. (Lord bless smart and savvy press teams!)

They instantly won me over, these little treats, since they come in the form of little miniature macarons.

Awwww. SO cute!

And especially so because they’re made in France. But the real test was if my fussy little dog (people always comment how she’s like a cat in a dog’s cloak) would eat them.

After a couple of false starts, she did! And loved them. I could tell how much she loved them because she would pirate the little morsels away from her bowl and sequester them in her bed before swallowing the little cookie whole. She does that only for the really good stuff.

Try them yourself. Or, rather, have your Fido or Fifi try them for you!

Fast Food Solution

What better time than summer to 1. Eat Healthier 2. Spend less time in the kitchen 3. Transform your body to Fantastically Fabulous

With these three goals in mind, is it any wonder then that Fast Food Solution caught my eye in a big way?!

North Americans spend more time watching Cooking Shows than cooking their own meals!

I just had to see what these guys were all about… So I’ve…

“Chanel has her No. 5. I have my Charles Heidsieck Champagne cellar No. 9.”

The Charles Heidsieck cellars in Reims, Champagne are legendary. They are some of the best examples of the crayères, the chalk-stone cellars, that are so emblematic of Champagne. These were first excavated by the Romans some 2000 years ago. The stones were then used to the build the city of Reims, a city that was once the capital of France.

If you take a look at the picture here of cellar (crayéres) No. 9, you will see that it resembles the shape of a bottle. The team, led now by Cecile Bonnefond, took that as inspiration to model a new bottle for Champagne Charles Heidsieck. So the bottle shape is inspired by Crayères No. 9 from deep inside the depths of their champagne cellars in Reims.

The cellars have even more historical significance as they were used as shelters during the wars of the last century. There is no elevator to get you back up once you’re several hundred feet below ground. So if you do ever get the chance to visit these cellars in Champagne, wear comfortable shoes.
